A home watch service consists of regularly-scheduled inspections of both the interior and exterior of unoccupied homes. Our primary emphasis is ensuring your home is secure and there are no issues with vandalism, water leaks, animal or bug infestations, rain or storm damage, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning and heating, mold or various other concerns.

It may be easier to explain this by asking the question ‘Why wouldn’t you want one?’ So many things can happen to your home in your absence: break-ins, water leaks, electrical problems, frozen or broken pipes, animal infestation, mold and storms to name a few. Preventive measures such as proactive maintenance should prevent many situations from arising.

Currently, all of your home watch inspections will be done by the owner, Marybeth Hewatt or her husband Chris. 

Yes. We have a an extensive list of qualified licensed contractors and other vendors who can help with most of your needs. We will gladly provide you with their contact information or we can schedule them on your behalf. We are also available to meet with them during what is to be completed.

Severe storms can cause extensive damage to homes. As a part of our service, we inspect all homes after severe storms. These "storm inspections" are complimentary for clients who inspect with us  twice a month or more. No worries though, we are happy to provide a storm inspection for all other clients at a rate of $40 per visit.

While most of our clients own second homes that they occupy periodically throughout the year, we also take care of homes for seasonal residents (aka Snowbirds), vacation apartments or condos, professional or business travelers, deployed military personnel, new homeowners who will move in at a later date and home sellers who need to move prior to the sale of their home.

We consider your security and your property’s security as our highest priority. Keys are stored in a fireproof safe when not being used to access the property. Our staff who will enter your home have been thoroughly screened and have passed a background check. 

Lake Dog will send you a detailed report by email with pictures of any problems identified upon completion of inspecting the interior and exterior of your home. These reports are produced by us while on location at your home and provide our GPS coordinates with a day and time stamp. We use HomeWatchIT software to best serve you.
